يحتفل الوطن كل عام بهذه المناسبة الخالدة، مناسبة ذكرى معركة الكرامة التي سطر خلالها نشامى الوطن الجيش الأردني أروع البطولات وأجمل الانتصارات على ثرى الأردن الطهور... وفي ذكراها يحلو الفرح وتسمو معاني النصر... ومهما كان احتفالنا بهذه المناسبة الخالدة فإننا لن نفيها حقها لأنها أكبر من كل الكلمات والاحتفالات... حيث تحوم أرواح الشهداء في فضاءات الأردن... فوق سهوله وهضابه وغوره وجباله... وتسري في العروق رعشة الفرح بالنصر ونشوة الافتخار بهذا الجيش العربي الأردني... وتطمئن القلوب بذكر الله وهي تقرأ قول الحق على روح قائد الكرامة الحسين بن طلال "رحمة الله" وشهداء الكرامة... فيسمو الوطن بقدسية أرضه وحرية إنسانه وكرامة أمته وأصالة رسالته...

معركة الكرامة وقعت في 21 آذار 1968 حين حاولت قوات الجيش الإسرائيلي احتلال الضفة الشرقية من نهر الأردن لأسباب تعتبرها إسرائيل استراتيجية. وقد عبرت النهر فعلا من عدة محاور مع عمليات تجسير وتحت غطاء جوي كثيف. فتصدت لها قوات الجيش الأردني على طول جبهة القتال من أقصى شمال الأردن الى جنوب البحر الميت بقوة. وفي قرية الكرامة التحم بجانب الجيش الأردني مجموعة من الفدائيين وأبناء العشائر الأردنية من سكان تلك المنطقة في قتال شرس بالسلاح الأبيض مع الجيش الإسرائيلي في عملية استمرت قرابة الخمسين دقيقة. واستمرت المعركة أكثر من 16 ساعة، مما اضطر الإسرائيليون على الانسحاب الكامل من أرض المعركة تاركين وراءهم ولأول مرة خسائرهم وقتلاهم دون أن يتمكنوا من سحبها معهم. وتمكنت القوات الأردنية في هذه المعركة من تحقيق النصر والحيلولة من تحقيق إسرائيل لأهدافها.

معرض سيبت 2009

يفتتح يوم غد الثلاثاء في هانوفر بألمانيا معرض سبيت السنوي للتكنولوجيا الذي يعد واحدا من أكبر معارض تكنولوجيا وبرامج الكمبيوتر في العالم. وتأسس معرض سبيت وأسمه الكامل بالألمانية "مكتب ومركز تكنولوجيا المعلومات" في الأصل في عام 1970 في معرض هانوفر الصناعي. وأصبح سبيت في النهاية معرضا متكاملا مستقلا في عام 1986. وكان أكبر معرض سبيت على الإطلاق في عام 2001 في ذروة ازدهار الكمبيوتر عندما شغل 8100 عارض مساحة 430 ألف متر مربع من ساحات العرض وهو ضعف مساحة المعرض في العام الحالي.

صورة اليوم تظهر المذنب الأخضر "لولين"، الذي يستمر في الاقتراب من كوكبنا الأزرق. وطبقاً لحسابات علماء الفلك، ستكون مشاهدة النيزك المتكون من مادة كبريتية، ممكنة بالعين المجردة في النصف الثاني من شهر شباط/ فبراير الجاري. ويؤكد العلماء أن مادة كبريتية سامة هي التي أعطت المذنب لونه الأخضر الغريب.

من 150 لتر للشخص الواحد ـ تراجع معدلات استهلاك الألمان للبيرة

تراجعت معدلات استهلاك الألمان للبيرة (الجعة) خلال العام الماضي 2008 بمتوسط 2.2 لتر للشخص الواحد، ليصبح متوسط استهلاك الشخص الواحد للبيرة سنويا 109,5 لتر.

وذكر بيتر هان رئيس رابطة مصانع البيرة اليوم السبت "يبدو أن رغبة الألمان في شرب البيرة في تراجع مستمر" وأرجع ذلك إلى تغير العادات وحظر التدخين في المطاعم مما أدى إلى انخفاض تناول البيرة في المطاعم بنسب تتراوح بين 20 و 25في المائة . وتوقع رئيس الرابطة استمرار معدلات انخفاض تناول البيرة في السنوات المقبلة وطالب مصانع البيرة بالتعود على انخفاض معدلات الاستهلاك خلال العام الجاري 2009. وأشارت تقديرات الرابطة إلى أن معدلات استهلاك البيرة في ألمانيا ستنخفض سنويا بنحو 2 في المائة. وأكدت في الوقت نفسه أن سنوات الازدهار في منتصف السبعينات من القرن الماضي عندما كان المواطن الألماني يستهلك أكثر من 150 لترا من البيرة سنويا قد "انتهت بلا رجعة". وقالت الرابطة إن نحو 1300 من مصانع البيرة في أنحاء ألمانيا تواجه خلال العام الجاري "أوقاتا عصيبة" وسط رغبة متزايدة لتنفيذ عمليات اندماج لخفض النفقات والنجاة من الإفلاس مع استبعاد زيادة الأسعار.

يستضيف العاصمة الألمانية برلين خلال الفترة من 27 نوفمبر/ تشرين الثاني 2008 وحتى 5 يوليو/تموز 2009 معرضا فنياً للتماثيل القديمة، ويحمل المعرض عنوان " عودة الآلهة" في (Pergamonmuseum). ويحتوي هذا المعرض على تماثيل لآلهة مشهورة، من البشر أو الحيوانات، عبدها أو قدسها الإنسان في مراحل و ثقافات وشعوب مختلفة، بما في ذلك آلهة الحب وآلهة النبيذ. وأشهر هذه التماثيل إلهة الحب المعروفة في القصص والأساطير "إفروديت".

وضع نادر لكوكبي فينوس والمشترى بالنسبة للهلال، يجعل الثلاثة معاً يشكلون وجهاً مبتسماً، جذب الآلاف لمشاهدته في القارة الآسيوية. تم التقاط هذه الصورة ليلة أمس في الفلبين.

Planets, Crescent Moon to "Frown" on Skywatchers Dec. 1

Skywatchers across the world are in for a celestial treat as two of the brightest naked-eye planets, Venus and Jupiter, slowly converge in the evening skies for a celestial summit on November 30.

The real showpiece, however, will be on the following night, when a thin crescent moon joins the planetary pair—creating a brief "unhappy face" in the sky.

The planets will appear closest together—an event known as a planetary conjunction—on November 30 around 4 p.m. Pacific time, and the moon will cozy up to the pair on the evening of December 1.

"This is set to be the best planetary gathering of the year, simply because it involves three of the brightest objects in the sky after the sun," said Geza Gyuk, director of astronomy at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago.

"As long as you have clear skies in the early part of the evening, this is one astronomical event that's hard to miss."

In fact, some historians think that a similar conjunction between Jupiter and Venus in 2 B.C. may be the source of the "star of Bethlehem" story related in the Bible.

The stellar pair would have appeared so close together, scholars think, that they might have seemed to meld into one brilliant beacon of light.

Clear the Streets, Santa's Driving!

Santa got to take the wheel of one of Berlin's trams on Nov. 30, the first Sunday of Advent. He didn't have Rudolf to help him navigate, but at least the tram was connected to a track, so he couldn't get lost. There were also no reports of injured pedestrians in Berlin on Sunday.

Complimenting the landscape work xRez is pursuing, some dense urban locations have been shot as well, providing great subjects for gigapixel detail. In Boston, a view from the Prudential Tower’s Skywalk provided a good base to cover a portion of the city in narrow-field high density. Unfortunately, an automated pano head was not available, but 612 overlapping images were shot manually with a 300mm lens. Proving it is possible (but not sensible) to do a gigapixel shoot manually, luck held out and a successful stitch was made, resulting in a 95,000 by 40,000 pixel size image. On the island of Oahu, Hololulu was shot from two vantage points, yielding a closer and more expansive view of the hotel-laden cityscape. Downtown Los Angeles provides a good study of old and new architecure.

الأسود تخلد ذكرى تأسيس مدينة رام الله

تجسد تماثيل الأسود الخمسة الواقعة في ساحة المنارة وسط مدينة رام الله تاريخ المدينة، التي تأسست على يد مهاجر من الكرك يدعى راشد الحدادين، حيث أقام هذه الاسود الخمسة رمزا لأبناءه، وتعطي صورة لأصول العائلات.

وكان هذا المهاجر قد قرر الرحيل عن موطنه بسبب تعقيدات عادات البداوة هناك. ويحكى ان راشد هذا اشترى خربة رام الله من عائلات البيرة القدامى، دون ان يعلم انه كان يؤسس لمدينة سيكون لها دور هام في تاريخ الفلسطينين.

ترمز هذه الأسود الى صبرى وشقير وابراهيم وجريس وحسان أولاد راشد الحدادين وأجداد عائلات رام الله القديمة.

وتعتزم بلدية رام الله تشييد نصب تذكاري لمؤسس المدينة بهدف تكريمه ولتعريف الاجيال القادمة بفضله في تأسيس مدينة الحكايات والكفاح.

أثبتت دراسة حديثة أن اللون الأحمر يؤثر في الرجال بشكل كبير ويجذب أنظارهم أكثر من باقي الألوان. وأكدت الدراسة التي نشرت نتائجها مجلة "فوكوس" الألمانية في موقعها الالكتروني أن المرأة التي ترتدي اللون الأحمر في مقابلاتها مع الرجال تصبح "محط أنظارهم". وقال القائمون على الدراسة:"لا تدرك نساء كثيرات أن الرجال يمكن أن يفكروا بمثل هذه الطريقة البدائية ولكن يبدو أنهم يفعلون ذلك بدرجة ما"، وأكدوا أن الرجال أنفسهم لا يدركون قوة تأثير الألوان عليهم. وسجلت الدراسة ردود فعل مجموعة من الرجال إزاء اللون الأحمر حيث عرضت عليهم عدة صور لنساء يرتدين مجموعة مختلفة من الألوان. وطلب القائمون على الدراسة من الرجال تقييم كل امرأة في تلك الصور. وأظهرت النتيجة أن السيدات اللاتي يرتدين اللون الأحمر في الصور حصلن على أعلى تقديرات من الرجال رغم أن بعض الصور كانت مكررة لنفس المرأة ولكن بألوان ملابس مختلفة.

الرفراف الجميل يحصل على لقب "طائر العام2009"

أعلنت الجمعية الألمانية لحماية البيئة وجمعية حماية الطيور في ولاية بافاريا اليوم في مؤتمر صحفي منح طائر" الرفراف" أو "صياد السمك" Alcedo atthis الجميل لقب "طائر العام 2009"، وذلك للفت الانتباه إلى المخاطر المحدقة بهذا الطائر، بعد اختفائه من كثير من مناطق التي كان يتواجد فيها. وتعتبر المناطق النهرية والأحواض المائية البيئة الطبيعية لهذا الطائر الذي يتغذى على الأسماك الصغيرة والحشرات المائية وغيرها من الحيوانات والسرطانات البحرية.

وكالة الفضاء الأمريكية (ناسا) ترصد ثلوج في سحب كوكب المريخ

أعلنت وكالة الطيران والفضاء الأمريكية (ناسا) أن المركبة الفضائية "فينيكس مارس" عثرت على ثلوج تتساقط من السحب فوق كوكب المريخ. وأظهرت أجهزة فينيكس أن الثلوج تتبخر قبل أن تصل إلى الأرض. وقال الباحث جيم وايتواي من جامعة يورك في تورنتو: "لم ير أحد مثل هذا المنظر في المريخ.. سنبحث عن إشارات على أن الثلوج يمكن أن تصل إلى الأرض (أرض المريخ)". وقال العلماء أيضا إنهم عثروا على مادة كربونات الكالسيوم وهي المادة الرئيسية المكونة للطباشير وربما الصلصال وهاتين مادتين لا تتكونان إلا في وجود المياه السائلة. وكانت فينيكس أكدت في وقت سابق وجود ثلوج على سطح المريخ. ويعد اكتشاف وجود مياه سائلة على سطح المريخ أمرا أساسيا لمعرفة إذا كانت وجدت حياة على سطح الكوكب الصخري من قبل.
